Warzone’s September 15 update will include weapon changes to the Krig, FARA, OTs-9, and more as Raven further balances the weapons.
Raven Software has dropped a brand-new update for Warzone, making major changes to the game’s weapon balancing with nerfs to popular guns like the Krig 6, Stoner 63, and OTs 9 SMG.
There’s nothing quite like a weapon balancing update to throw the cat among the pigeons in Verdansk, and just one week after the Season 5 Reloaded patch, Raven has given the meta a huge shakeup.
While there are some significant nerfs to some of Warzone’s best weapons, the biggest casualty of the September 15 update is the OTs 9, which has had its recoil increased, and headshot, neck multipliers, and damage range all reduced.
On top of that, the Krig 6 and Stoner 63 LMG have also been hit by Raven, while the AUG and M16 Assault Rifles have received a boost.
It’s not just the three weapons above who have been hit hard by this patch. While the FARA 83, TEC-9, and QBZ-83 haven’t been dominating the meta, Raven have decided they needed to be nerfed too.
It’s important to know that while the game’s developers have released these notes to us, there are still more changes to come when the update officially goes live. Raven is set to release full patch notes on September 15, and we’ll be sure to update this article with any new information.

We’ve compiled a list of the top 10 weapons with the highest K/D in Warzone that will reveal the weapons you need to use in Season 3.
Kill/death ratio has long been the metric Call of Duty players use to determine their skill. If you’re unsure of what this means, it’s quite simply how many kills you manage to record before you die yourself.
Website WZRanked.com has tracked the average K/D players have when using specific weapons, and from that, we can see what the highest K/D weapons are based on slaying potential.
We’re counting down the top ten Warzone weapons with the highest K/D ratios in Warzone Season 3 as of May 13, 2022.
The Automaton is a staple weapon of Vanguard’s multiplayer and it has claimed a similar role in Warzone Pacific, despite dropping down a few spots since Season 2. The weapon has maintained its popularity and it is the second most used Assault Rifle on this list.
This easy-to-use AR has been praised for its aiming stability which makes it a perfect choice for Caldera players. It may not deliver hefty damage but a K/D of 1.20 proves that you’ll land most of your shots thanks to its forgiving recoil pattern.
The STG44 just slightly surpasses the Automaton for the ninth-place spot. On May 4, Vanguard weapons received a massive buff to damage range, making them more effective Warzone weapons.
This has led to an increase in usage of Vanguard ARs, and the STG44 is currently the most popular Warzone weapon with a pick ratio of 13.84%. It boasts a K/D of 1.21, which is the second-highest Assault Rifle K/D on this list despite placing ninth overall.
This may come as a nasty surprise to most players but Vanguard’s Combat Shield sneaks into the list with a 1.23 K/D. Of course, the Combat Shield is a niche pick that only suits a particular playstyle.
Nonetheless, such an impressive K/D suggests that the Combat Shield role of baiting and luring enemies into traps could be a valuable one in Solos or a squad of expert players.
At this point, there is a three-way tie from seventh to fifth with a shared K/D of 1.24. We’ve decided to rank the next three weapons in order of least popular to most popular. The Volk has made massive strides to get on this list in Season 3 following several buffs.
The Volk is an underrated AR that deserves more credit and its impressive K/D is proof of that. It makes for an excellent Sniper support weapon or a close-range Assault Rifle on Rebirth Island.
At the moment the competition for the best Warzone SMG is fierce but if the Type 100’s K/D continues to rise over 1.24 then expect more players to notice its value.
Most Vanguard weapons boast a fast TTK but the Type 100 takes this characteristic to the next level as it kills incredibly quickly.
Warzone Pacific Season 3 completely shook up the Sniper Rifle meta by nerfing the popular Kar98k and Swiss. As a result, players shifted to the ZRG as Warzone’s best Sniper and it hasn’t disappointed with a 1.24 K/D.
The LAPA SMG failed to make waves when it was introduced to Warzone players during Season 6 but the Black Ops Cold War weapon is currently dominating the battle royale.
During Season 2 it’s 1.15 K/D barely got it on this list, but we warned you not to be shocked to see its K/D increase as more and more players discover its incredible TTK. In Season 3 it can keep up with the best SMGs in the game with a 1.26 K/D.
The Armaguerra kicks off the trend of Vanguard SMGs dominating the top spots on this list. At the moment, the Armaguerra is looking like the best-kept secret in Warzone with a 1.34 K/D.
The SMG has incredible strafe speed and fantastic TTK, allowing it to compete with the two other SMGs ahead of it. The Armaguerra arrived during Season 2 and hasn’t been around for a while so if you haven’t given it a shot yet, you may want to give the powerful SMG a try.
The Welgun excels both on Rebirth Island and Caldera and suits the aggressive SMG style. It ranks second overall in Warzone K/D coming in at 1.39. It is excellent at medium-range, boasts a fast TTK, and packs a significant punch.
What’s great about this weapon is the number of different top loadouts we’ve seen since the weapon arrived during Warzone Pacific Season 1. This means that regardless of which attachments you use, this gun is simply amazing.
Best Owen Gun Warzone loadout
Vanguard’s Owen Gun has blown the competition out of the water with a K/D of 1.44. It is definitely deserving of the title of highest K/D Warzone weapon as Season 3 nerfs failed to hold it back.
The Owen Gun has been the go-to SMG choice for top players and many believed that it would take a hit in Season 3 given the nerfs it received but this has not been the case. The Owen Gun is a unique SMG that takes some getting used to but once you get the hang of it, it is truly devastating.

Then, simply watch the Call of Duty League 2022 season through either YouTube or the CoD Companion app, and you can earn all of the free rewards on offer.
Players can earn a ton of Double XP and Double Weapon XP by watching live matches throughout the CDL 2022 season.
There will be sixteen 30 Minute Double XP tokens up for grabs in the Major 3 Qualifiers and Bracket, with a new level reached for every hour of watch time. Players will earn a regular XP and Double Weapon XP alternating for each hour watched.
With four hours of Double XP to be gained, you’ll find leveling up your weapons much easier across Vanguard and Warzone.
Vanguard and Warzone players can also earn rewards such as Calling Cards, Emblems, and an exclusive Cooper Carbine Blueprint for watching at least half an hour of June 2’s Major 3 Champs weekend hosted by Toronto Ultra.

It’s worth bearing in mind that the reward might not correspond to the exact challenge, as in the chaos of Operation Monarch, players had trouble figuring out exactly what they did to trigger the reward.
The first secret Operation Monarch challenge has been set by Mountain Dew, where you just need to eliminate three enemies with a Flaming Throwing Knife to unlock a unique Calling Card. If you haven’t bought it from the store, we recommend picking up the ground loot version and using it on downed enemies.
